I tried to make a call on my Virgin landline today, but when I picked up one of the handsets there was no dial tone the line was completely silent. A message came on the handset to say there was a call in progress, all of the other handsets were in their holders when I pressed the option to join the call again I was met with silence.
When checking the other handsets around the house one of the phones in its stand did have the timer running again this phone was silent until I double pressed the hang up button at which point the dial tone returned.
I am now concerned that the line did not disconnect correctly from a previous days call.
If the phone is silent does that mean the call has been disconnected?
