Landline phone not working after change over to fibre

My landline phone is a Gigaset E560A After connecting my landline phone  via a RG 11 cable to my Virgin hub, I rebooted it. The phone icon on the modem came up green during the reswitch on. However ...

    Make sure the phone is plugged into the Hub TEL 1 socket. 

    Using any other Hub socket will not result in a working phone service.
