Landline not working for the last couple of days. Called VM but automated system times out in testing

My landline hasn't been working for the last few days. Thought it was the storm so haven't been too concerned but it hasn't come back. No dial tone at all. Internet work fine.

Online test says no issues. Called  VM and automated system times out every time it tries to test the line. Can't find a human to communicate this to!

  • Hi JezH1

    Welcome to the Community forums.

Sorry to hear that you're having issues with your landline at this time.

Just to confirm. as you mentioned your internet is okay. Do you have your landline connected to a master wall socket or into the back of your router at this time?

Do you have an other handsets that use extensions at all?

        Hi ESS2024,

Thank you for reaching out to us in our community and welcome, we're sorry to see your Landline isn't currently working even though no issues are showing online, I can see you have advised you are currently using the old wall socket, have you tried removing everything from this including any extensions and try the phone directly into the socket, if the phone is part of a set try a different standalone phone, if we were to send an Engineer and the fault is due to your equipment/ cables then there would be a £25 callout charge which we would like to help you avoid where possible.

You can find further help and support around Landline faults here.

I was unable to locate you on our system with the details we have for you, I have sent you an invite into a private chat, if the above doesn't work please click on the white envelope to join me and I will look further into this for you.

        Regards

        Paul.
