Landline Damaged

Spookyville
Dialled in

Our landline external cable has been damaged last saturday (28th sep) when Northern Powergrid dug up the front of the house (I did warn them to be careful!). Couldn't find a telephone number to call on the website (and landline queries not dealt with on the web chat option).

Also wondering if its easier just to cancel as we don't really use it anymore but not sure if that will affect the broadband price.

Hi @Spookyville

Welcome back to the community forums

Sorry to hear that your landline has been damaged due to external works carried out by Northern Powergrid.

Were they aware that they had damaged the cable and caused you service issues? If so, they should've already informed us so we can take action to resolve this.

If you're in contract, cancelling the landline would incur early disconnection fees. If you're not in contract, then you can take a look at package deals that do not include a landline service however, this may not work out cheaper due to available discounts when you've all 3 services.

Please join me on private message so I can locate your account and pass account security to investigate the landline issue further. You can see your private messages at the top of the page, in the envelope icon or if you're using a smaller device, you can see your private messages by clicking on the Virgin Media logo at the top right and selecting 'Messages' from the drop-down.

Still waiting for Northern Power grid to fill the hole, they are not being very communicative despite constantly chasing them.

Hello,
To report the damaged landline cable, contact your service provider directly. For example, CenturyLink customers can call 800-244-1111.
Regarding cancellation, removing your landline might affect your broadband price, as some providers offer bundled discounts. Check with your provider to understand the impact on your bill.

Best Regards,
