To help your elderly relative port their old phone number to Virgin Media, start by gathering the old number and account details from the previous provider. Then, contact Virgin Media customer service at 0345 454 1111 or use their live chat for assistance.

Thank you so much for your post and welcome to the community forums, it's great to have you here.
I am so sorry to hear your relative has faced an issue with their number port, but we will be happy to advise. Firstly their old number will need to be kept active with the former provider in order to port this across, we would then need to speak to the account holder directly to request the port to the account.
They can call on 0345 454 1111, pop us a WhatsApp message on 07305 327 112 or if they have a Community forums profile they can pop us a message here and we will be happy to assist further.
