I have tried speaking with customer support, and cannot get them to understand my question, so here goes:
With the impending switchover, can I plug my telephone into my black WIFI pod and make calls that way, or does the telephone need to be plugged into the hub (via adapter)?
I like my hub where it currently is, but it's a long way from where I like my landline.

VMs hub based telephones do not use the internet, so are not part of your Wi-Fi or Ethernet networks. There is a totally separate connection made between the hubs RJ11 TEL sockets & the local Virgin telephone exchange.

Only the VM Hub has the TEL 1 ( RJ11 ) Analogue phone socket that takes the RJ11 - BT socket adaptor.
If you prefer a phone in a different place, consider connecting the base unit of a set of cordless phones to the VM Hub and then the other handsets can go wherever you please.
If you have a network connection VOIP phone from Cisco etc and a Sipgate or Vonage account that could be connected to the network port of a VM Pod or any other type of Wi-Fi Repeater. But I suspect this is not what your asking about.

Hello Darwa,
Thanks for raising your landline query via the forums in regards to the changes to the way the service works. As nodgrod has explained, the landline works separately from the Hub's wired and wireless networks which is why the TEL1 port is used for the handsets/base stations to be connected so they wouldn't work via a Pod.
