Constant Bleeping But No Voicemail

Hi Guys,

My first posting.

My home phone has developed a constant bleeping sound indicating that I have a new voicemail. After dialling 1571 to access my new voicemail I am told by the nice lady that I do not have any voicemail to listen to.

I’m unable to stop. this constant bleeping.

Can anyone possibly help me out??

Engineer just visited, was able to get authorisation for switch over. I am now able to connect landline phone to router and this has also cured constant bleeping issue. Thanks to everyone involved for helping me out.

Hi scoobydoo3,

Thank you for reaching out to us in our community and welcome, sorry to see you have a constant message alert when there isn't one there, can you try calling your phone from a different one/ Mobile, leave a message, once done go back into messages and delete, this should clear the issue.

Regards

Paul.

Hi Paul,

I tried to leave a message on my land line phone last night calling from my mobile. For some reason message that I left was not picked up on the land line.

I'm so sorry to hear that this has happened @Anonymous

Have any other numbers had issues leaving messages? Are you able to try from another phone at all?

I do not have access to another phone. I am able to dial out and dial into the landline but cant clear constant bleeping or leave messages on land line. Is this something that can possibly be fixed remotely or will this require a visit to fix?

Thanks again for popping back @Anonymous

Just to confirm, has anyone been able to leave a voicemail since this issue started?

Hi,

Just remembered that I have a new land line phone. I have tried using this but I am still unable to leave any messages on this phone either.

Thank you @Anonymous

So sorry to check but I just want to make sure, are you calling the landline from a mobile? Has anyone been able to leave a voicemail since this issue started?

Can you also confirm are you connected at the main socket or an extension socket at the wall or via the Hub?

I can confirm that I used my mobile phone to test out whether I can leave a message on my land line.

As to when the issue started I am sorry I do not know as I rarely use my land line phone these days, preferring to use my mobile instead.

The only reason I have noticed this bleeping issue is that last Friday was supposed to be the day of my land line switch over to my router connection which did not work.

Currently I am still connected to the existing socket at the wall.

Thank you for confirming this @Anonymous

What made happened when you tried to connect the phoneline to the router? Was there no dial tone, or was there another reason why it was not working?

Are you able to connect the landline phone into the router for us to check now?
The telephone cable will need to be plugged into the Grey TEL 1 port on the back of your router, if you have received an adapter through the post then this will need to be plugged in between your router and telephone line.

After this, please then fully reboot your router to see if the bleeping and you can leave a message
