Constant calls from 0800 052 8675

Hi, I have been getting frequent calls recently from VM (0800 052 8675).

When I did manage to answer one, I wasn't able to understand properly what the call was about -due to a combination of my poor hearing and the lady's accent.

Can anyone suggest what the call would be about?
Is that number used for sales or service?
Thanks.

      Hi,

I am having the same issue as above but don’t have the option to ‘opt out’ in the app and I’m sure I put that I didn’t want to receive marketing when I joined virgin a few months ago. Any way these calls can be stopped please? It’s multiple times a day everyday and when I have answered the odd one the line went dead!

Thanks for reaching out to us EmilyB16, and a very warm welcome to our Community Forums!

Sorry to hear you've been receipt of unwanted marketing calls from our team.

If you're able to log into your self-care account via a browser, you should then be able to adapt your marketing preferences.

We would however also advise that we are aware of scammer’s currently cold calling customers of our services, and rival companies, posing at Virgin Media.

Do feel free to take a look at our handy literature to assist you further

        Thanks,

        David_Bn

      Tuning in

I too am receiving an unacceptable number of marketing calls. They purport to off me the best deal available but they always end up costing me more per month than I pay now, I always reject the offer.

I've tried changing my marketing preferences in my account but when I go to save changes, it returns the message "sorry your changes have not been saved, please try again later" What a surprise!!!

        Hi PMellersh,

Thank you for your post. I'm very sorry to hear about the marketing calls you are getting.

To confirm, have you tried changing the settings via different web browsers?

    On our wavelength

I have exactly the same issue this week, and I can't find anywhere to opt out of calls. The number is a genuine Virgin one and there is nothing on our account to allow opt out of phone calls

      Hi smiley1,

Thank you for your post and welcome back to our community forums. We're here to help.

I'm very sorry to hear that you're receiving some unwanted calls. Have you answered any of them to see what the reason is for their call? If so, have you told them during the phone call that you would like them to cease calling further?

      Thanks,

      Hi smiley1

To log out of calls scroll down to the Your Account section on the Home page when you sign into MVM

Then click on the Account Settings icon (shown in the screenshot below)

Then on the screen that opens click on Marketing Preferences

Untick the box next to Sounds good! Keep me up to date in the Marketing consent section, and then click on Save Changes.

It can take up to 30 days for the changes to take effect
