High ping on Firestick

When running a speed test on my phone, laptop, computer etc is is around 15-20 however when I try on my firestick it is showing at 250 plus. Make watching anything via the firestick impossible without constant buffering. I have 1Gig Volt so speed shouldn’t be an issue. 

Anybody on ideas how to improve this?

Test the Firestick with a wired connection.  It is most likely a poor Wifi signal?

The fire stick 4K doesn’t have Ethernet capabilities.

You are correct, however they have an ethernet adaptor as an option.  I've never used a Firestick over Wifi, they are always wired.

250ms is time enough for a ping to travel over 20,000 Km and to come back.
To what location is the Firestick pinging ?
Is the Firestick loaded with a VPN or other content access tools ?

Sorry to hear about the high pink on your Firestick.

Depending on what you are viewing and how may apps are running in the background.

Have you tried force closing any apps that are running in the back ground and then checking the pings again.
