High ping spikes pls help

I keep getting ping spikes over 244ms randomly.

My hub stats have been checked and they are good.

Is it possible is a neighbour  is connected to your line that it can cause latency issues?

    The lines to you and your neighbours are connected together in the street cabinet.

    Having said that your service is generally good according to the BQM. Many people get spikes like that very frequently at busy times. I doubt that you would get much support from VM.

    The cause if your not causing it by downloading or uploading is people in your area are uploading causing ping spike

    Do you still get those spikes when there is no user active on your own connection?

      yes even when theres no one on the connection it happens,  and it is random when the ping spikes over 200ms, but happens almost everyday atleast a few times or once, and lasts only a few seconds. I game on ethernet, and I tried changing the ethernet cables no difference.

    If you're sure there is no other user on your Hub it does suggest one of your neighbours is hitting the upstream. Do these spikes happen at the same time every day?

      Im not sure, I will keep the monitor running and post again in 24 hours?

    So a regular spike every 12 hours. VM do run some automated tests, but I've not seen this one before. If you have nothing running at home that might be updating regularly (heating controls etc) then you have a neighbour doing something similar.

      how does a neighbor cause my connection to lag? Aren't we on separate lines?

        Looking at your connection, the BQM looks good, but there's a number of disconnections registering on the hub and there may be a minor issue in the local area affecting your service too. On this basis it may be best if we get you back into a PM and take a closer look.
