You'll need to change the email login from within MyVirginMedia. VM have changed the logins for the broadband and email accounts.

It's difficult to help if you don't provide the answers. 

Have you tried webmail with a browser? What messages do you get?

Is the email linked to a current Virginmedia broadband account?

hi tried webmail but it said not recognised, it is linked to a current virgin broadband account

Thank you for your post. I'm very sorry for the issues you've had in accessing your online account. 

As jpeg1 has advised it looks as though you need to change your email address sign in. 

Have you been able to do this?
