Good evening to you. My son's VM.com email address was taken over. yes someone has gained access, changed the password and the recovery information including changing the mobile number. A s such we received a letter int he mail that someone has set up an Irish Company in my son's name. We also went to register for a credit bureau account to check his credit profile in case an banking or new card accounts have been applied for. A such it appears that the scammer who took control of the email has already set up accounts as the "email address is in use. I contact the VM Media team along with my son on the 27th October 2024 and was told it would be investigated and what we are trying to do is regain access. It has been 2 weeks and we were told that we would receive contact back in 5 business days. Nothing has happened. As such I am back on to the VM support team. We have a TCKET number, a new secure GMAIL account for correspondence. My son can verify his details too. WE have contacted ACTION FOR FRAUD also, but our worry is we are trying to stop the scamme int heir steps from causing further ID fraud and are getting nowhere. IS there someone from the VM FRAUD/SECURITY team that could make contract with us please URGENTLY. My son uses the same device (mobile phone) and whilst at home using the VM broadband can easily verify the originating IP Address, the MAC Address of the unique devices he has always access his email account from previously. IT should be easy to verify his details and get the email account back under his control.
MY Ask, could someone from the VM TEAM please make a secure reply before this fraud escalates? Does any other frum user have any ideas?

Hi Marcconway,
Thanks for posting and sorry to hear of the situation.
We can take a look at this, but it would be an account holder only action. Can you confirm if the Virgin account is in your name or your sons?
