Virgin.net for virgin money business customers

Sam390
Tuning in

Adding to the queries re the brutal destruction of longstanding virgin.net email addresses, it has just occurred to me that I am a Virgin Money Business customer. Does this allow me to retain the email address under the auspices of that active account?

@Sam390 Absolutely not.  Virgin Money is an entirely separate entity which as of this month is part of the Nationwide building society group. The use of 'virgin' in the Virgin media branding is due to a licence agreement from 17 or so years ago.  Virgin media is owned by a US company Liberty Global which has no affiliation with the Virgin group.

That's interesting because I checked their connectedness online before I posted and they both show as Virgin businesses under the Virgin.com banner

I get the occasional bottle of red from Virgin Wines but it hasn't helped me. VM is a completely different company see being jointly owned by Liberty Global and Telefonica but using the Virgin brand under license.

No but full marks for effort though.

@Sam390 Yes, confusing isn't it.  Here is a quote from the virgin group website to which I think you are referring:

Brand Licensing

VEL Holdings Limited and its subsidiaries, principally Virgin Enterprises Limited, license the Virgin brand through trademark license agreements with companies to use the Virgin brand. These include both companies which form part of the Virgin Group (Investee Businesses), as well as companies in which the Virgin Group holds no ownership interest (Licensees). The infographic below summarises the Investee Businesses and Licensees and where they are based.
