Virgin.net email

I contacted virgin media about this a month ago and was told they didn't see a problem and now it has stopped working.  6 phone calls later still not working. Customer service are so unhelpful.

Are you currently paying VM for Broadband services?  If not there is a possibly that old .net mailbox is deleted.  VM should have notified of this with a 30 day notice.  They are currently removing all old .net email accounts that are "dormant", i.e. non paying VM customers.

If you wait here a VM Mod should pick up this thread and discuss directly with you.

Yes I do still have an account and I contacted them a month ago and they said it will all be ok.

Well that's a good start.  Did VM advise you about the need to change to a 3rd party email for accessing your "My Virginmedia" and the need for a new email password if you need access using any "apps"?

Hopefully a VM Mod will pick this up and discuss directly with you shortly within a day or two.

If you read I did contact them a month ago and they said it shouldn't go as I have an existing service. After nearly 2 hours on the phone I retrieved them but they used a generic password and failed to tell me not to change it for 24 hours.  Just had to reboot my computer and now can't get in again.  Customer service is appalling

Yes, CS is lacking at times .....  However VM have introduced changes to all mailboxs to make them "more secure", and IMHO a more obtuse way of doing things.  To access MyVM you now need a 3rd party email and to access your mailbox via an "app" (e.g. Outlook ) you need your old .net email address and a new password in the format xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx    Was any of this done ?

Some of it was.  Computer updated and it stopped again. They are now saying my main blueyonder.co.uk one does not exist though that has all account details. I have spent 3 hours on the phone so far in total since 7th November.  2 Lots of lies as they said server error and I had been hacked.  Both untrue, I am currently undergoing medical treatment and am not supposed to have unnecessary stress but they are causing loads.  Disgusting service.
