Virgin Media offers £9.99 a month support package because to hide its service failings

After more than 6 hours on the phone to VM's service desks in India with no resolution to the persistent problems in my so-called e-mail service over several years, they had the cheek to suggest I purchased an 'Enhanced Support Package' for £9.99 a month.  What planet are these people on?

At the end of the latest call they eventually agreed they have a problem with their webmail service.  The unread counter in my Inbox counts incoming e-mails - but they are not displayed unless I am at home checking them on my PC.  At other times, I can receive e-mails but not send them.

I can't be the only customer with this problem.  I will post the solution, if and when they resolve it.

My best advice is 'avoid Virgin media if you want to stay sane and not waste irreplaceable hours in your life on the phone to their engineers.

Why are you wasting so much time and effort trying to keep your VM email going when better and more reliable email services are available?
