Unable to access virginmedia.com email

HI, my virginmedia.com email (which is a secondary account but used 99% more than my old NTL account!) has always worked fine on my mac computer and mobile phone until today (23/9/23) it now keeps asking for the password , i put the correct password in and it keeps coming back saying "username or password incorrect" which they are not! Help!!!!  cheers Dave.

  • Hi Daniel, the link did not work still no email access, so ended up ringing 150 on my house phone, they could not fix it at your end so have raised a job for your technicians to have a look at within 5days

      I just want to check as we were aware of a wider issue effecting email from yesterday that has since been resolved. How are things looking today?

        Hi Ashleigh, still no change, still cannot log in !! and still waiting for contact from virgin Technical side.

  • Hi Zach, i access my mail through my Mac mail, (my other emails Gmail etc still work fine, ) and on my android phone, my virginmedia.com stopped working on Saturday morning saying "unable to verify username and password" also stopped working on my android phone saying "Credentials needed" i know it's the correct username and password as i use Dashlane to manage my logins passwords etc when i rang 150 the lady could see my email but could not reset the password etc on my account so raised a job for a technician to fix it within 5 days (this was Monday morning) if i log in and go on my virgin email browser web page my Virginmedia .com seems to have gone, and only my old NTL email is accessible?

  • Hi Paul, tried that and still saying cannot verify username and password , the lady who spoke to me when i rang on 150 said the problem was your end as it would not let her reset password etc, hence why she raised a job for your tech side to fix it, this was on Monday, was promised a call to my mobile from tech within 5 days ... still no phone call!!

  • 4th time in a week that i've had to change my password in order to access my ntlworld emails on my PC.

    i now have no idea which password is used for which email address for my various virgin media accounts.

     

    They tell you to change your "email address" and then ask you for your "email address" without telling you which "email address" your supposed to use.

    VM need a serious kick up the backside and explain what changes they're making (preferably in advance, not after the event), why, and what effect it will have on anything else!  And, after they've told you to use 2 different email addresses, which one they want you to use on each occasion!

      Hi Adrian, sorry to hear your problems with your email so I'm not the only one having problems with my email! , still waiting for the promised phone back within 5 days! I know it's not my end where the problem is, my virginmedia.Com has worked perfectly for many years until Saturday,and i know it's the correct username and password which it now won't accept.

  • Well I have this problem for a few weeks now.  I managed to get into my mail box once and set up a forwarding function to a Gmail account.  I think I will let all my contacts know my Gmail address and slowly stop using Virgin Mail, (which I think this what Virgin Media wants us to do.  Selling out to O2?).

    The problem I need help with is that I still keep getting reminders that "Correct credentials needed".  How can I stop these emails coming in?

      I am so sorry that you have faced this issue with your service and thank you again for posting. To confirm, are you getting emails to your Gmail to ask you to update the Virgin mail credentials? Is this address linked to a current and active broadband account with us?

        The "Credentials needed" request pops up on "Notifications" on my Android telephone.

        When I select it the screen changes to a white box headed

        Sync Options

        Incoming server settings

        Username

        REMOVED@ntlworld.com

        Password

        ...................   x

        Server

        imap.ntlworld.com

        Port

        993

        Security type

        SSL/TLS

        Cancel                                                           Next

        When selecting NEXT a popup screen says "Problem with account setup Your username or password is incorect"

        There is no indication where this message originated.

        I have checked my Gmail account and whilst messages are being forwarded from my active Virgin mail account there is no sign of this message.

        As it won't accept any passwords that I can remember, nor can I request a password change, I would like to be able to cancel this notification.

  • The emails I am getting to my ntlword account are being transfered to the Gmail account.
