I attempted to log into emails via VM website. Took forever; once clicked which address I wanted into, got the above message - profiling device. It was the same when using my mobile phone. I have ntlworld and virginmedia email addresses - same for each name. Why did I get this? Can someone get a hold of my banking details? I heard that scammers can copy your laptop keys as you type in banking passwords etc. Anyone else getting 'profiling device'?

Yup.. I got the same message on all my email accounts. Then it just went into the account as normal. Looks like VM are making usual upgrades / maintenance server changes or whatever and not letting on any advice on the update..... (as usual).

Thanks for replies. Is there anyone from VM tech support here, who can tell us what's going on with this? Are our banking details safe? Why are they profiling our devices and what information are they taking off our devices? I'm now not comfortable logging onto my online bank account on this device so will fish out an old laptop.

Hello,
We've queried this "profiling device" message with our internal team who confirmed that they've recently upgraded some components on our ID platform and the screen is part of the login journey. We're sorry for any concern caused and we'll look to get the wording changed.
Regards,
Lisa
