I am receiving email as normal apart from password reset emails from a range of companies. I have checked in spam folders. I have logged into webmail and they are not showing there. Any ideas please?

It seems that automatically generated emails such as password reset and verification emails do often fall foul of the checks Virgin Media makes to prevent spoofed emails getting through. That means the emails never reach your email account.
Many companies use 3rd party software to automate the sending of password reset and transaction confirmation emails and if the settings used for those automated emails are not as per the specified international standards VM will reject emails from that source.
The people best placed to identify what has happened to these emails are the original sending organisations. In most cases VM will have sent a rejection message back to them which explains why the message has been rejected.
The problem is that it is very difficult to get to speak to someone in the sending organisation who has access to, and is willing, to investigate those rejections. The normal reaction from support staff is that they have sent the emails and that you should contact your email provider, VM in this case, to resolve the problem.
So my suggestions are:
1) You could try contacting the organisations whose emails are not arriving to ask them whether they have received any error messages from VM. If the can provide the details post them here and VM can check things out. Without those error messages there is not a lot VM (or you) can do.
2) I'm sorry to say this but, if you are finding this a regular problem, my advice would be to switch to using an email account from one of the many dedicated email providers. For example one of the ones listed here https://www.lifewire.com/best-free-email-accounts
