Password Reset

Joining in

Trying to reset password but being told "there is a problem registering the password" I input. I have tried in both firefox and edge, I have cleared cache also. Still not working, please help

Sorry to hear of the issues experienced resetting your password. We understand the concern and appreciate you raising this via the forums, welcome to the community.


For password resets, we have some criteria that needs to be met:


  • Minimum of eight characters.
  • At least one digit.
  • One upper case letter.
  • One lower case letter.
  • One of the following special characters “ @ # $ % ”

If this is for your email account and not your MyVM, please try the steps below:


  • Sign in to My Virgin Media
  • Go to Account settings, then Account details
  • Tap Manage next to Manage your Virgin Media Mail app password under Virgin Media Mail
  • Then, under Virgin Media Mail app password tap Get password
  • Continue the flow and a new secure password will be generated, and the mailbox unlocked
  • Update any third-party apps that may be use to access your Virgin Media Mail emails with this new app password.
