I was told my Virgin email account would be deleted 3 months after I was disconnected. But the email account is still active years later. A hacker has prevented me using the email app. I have lost the password. The hacker could impersonate me as part of an identity theft exploit. What's more I might be penalised if I failed to reply to an important email sent to my old address.

Thanks for posting and welcome to the community.
Sorry to hear of the email issue. You are correct, it should have been deleted automatically after 90 days, however some do slip the net.
