Like many users in this forum, I am not receiving verification emails from Microsoft. My email is a Blueyonder account, and the few that do arrive appear anywhere between 6 and 12 hours later. I can see from archived posts that Virgin have been able to resolve this on the back end.
Your help would be very much appreciated.

Just received the "first one".
First Email (Microsoft to Microsoft) started here.
Thu, 25 Jan 2024 13:21:42 +0000
So it looks like it was held up in the microsoft servers (VM Blocking connections or a Microsoft problem).
Received: from NAM11-BN8-obe.outbound.protection.outlook.com ([40.107.236.40]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 256/256 bits) (Client did not present a certificate) by mx5-prd-nl1-vmo.edge.unified.services with ESMTPS id *****************; Thu, 25 Jan 2024 18:04:40 +0100
Then it took another 5 mins (the time many 2fa Keys expire in!) to make it through the spam checks.
Received: from dcdir9-prd-nl1-vmo.nl1.unified.services ([100.107.82.65]) by dcbe31-prd-nl1-vmo.nl1.unified.services with LMTP id ****************** (envelope-from <account-security-noreply@accountprotection.microsoft.com>) for <******@ntlworld.com>; Thu, 25 Jan 2024 18:09:40 +0100
Fun Fact - If you disable the SPAM settings - It still has to pass through the spam check.

I am seeing this too. Tried on two accounts. Their Spam Filter seems to eat a lot of mail and then spit it out after hours upon hours of processing. We have an account (Not Microsoft) that requires 2FA and they cant change the email because - for months now - we cant get the 2FA code before it expires. Microsoft was working for me last week but it's fubar now.

Thanks VMCopperUser.
How long does it usually take for anyone at VM to pick up a thread and contact you to resolve it?
I have been trying to get a code for three days now. As you say tonight, I have five in my inbox, but they all relate to requests placed last night and this morning. Come on, VM, sort out your filter rules and let these codes through. If it helps the sending email is account-security-noreply@accountprotection.microsoft.com

Don't keep requesting codes, it will eventually lock you out of doing more request for 24 hours.
VM - Contact - Resolve ...... They are killing off their email service, so perhaps that's why it keeps getting worse and worse (Not to mention this "App" password thing that makes it impossible to know if someone else is accessing your account). As this MIGHT have been a Microsoft problem (I keep getting timeouts on all of VM servers) then there's a good chance the networks team (If they get notice) will just ignore the support request. The 5 min processing delay is a big problem and honestly as it's exactly 5 mins then I can't help but think this is by design (perhaps it pools incoming emails to build scam data *shrug*), but I have turned off spam filters, added email addresses, set up forwarding rules, and that 5 min delay isn't going away.

Good point, thank you VMCopperUser.
I have set up filters and email addresses and turned off the spam filter, but as you say, it doesn't stop the email going through the filter! I have been with VM since Blueyonder days, and this email was a legacy issue set up for my son. He has never changed it! They are not the company they once were.

Hello Kifaru2.
Thanks for your post.
Sorry to hear about the Microsoft verification emails getting delayed.
I can take a look into this for you if you like?
If you don't mind, I will need to send you a private message to pass security.
If you can check the Logo top right of your screen that would be great.
Regards
