Not receiving emails from groups.io

Since sometime yesterday (19 Sept) I have stopped receiving all emails from all the groups on groups.io I subscribe to.

Some posts appear in Bounces on my account on groups.io  e.g.

mxin10.virginmedia.com: 421 mx1-prd-nl1-vmo.edge.unified.services mx1-prd-nl1-vmo.edge.unified.services MXIN107 Connections from your IP 66.175.222.108 have been disallowed by admin policy. ;id=ix4JqAZVrJymN;sid=ix4JqAZVrJymN;mta=mx1-prd-nl1-vmo;d=20230920;t=151639[CET];ipsrc=66.175.222.108;

Does this mean Virgin Media is blocking emails from groups.io in error and how do I get them to stop blocking them? The messages are not being blocked by other mail providers apparently.

Thanks!

Some emails (but not all) emails from groups.io groups I belong to are bouncing again. I have an ntlworld.com email address. All the bounced messages have the "Hourly ratelimit for your IP exceeded message". Yet other messages I receive no problem. In the screenshot below, delivery of Digest 14 was attempted numerous times over 2-3 days and now has Bounced status. Yet other Digests (e.g Digest 13, 15 and 16) from the same io-group were received no problem. But again Digest 17 is being bounced this morning??

I'm using the Outlook client in MS365.

In view of the additional reports on this issue I'll hold off going to groups.io support until more information is available.

Thanks

PS. The issue arises with Webmail too.

Hi @AlpenDX,

Thank you for expanding. I'm going to send you a private message in a few moments so that we can take some further details. Please respond to this when you can and we'll proceed from there.

Thanks,

The problem with groups.io is still continuing here. Some emails from groups.io are being blocked by Virgin Media. They do not get into my inbox or even my spam folder. On grous.io web site they report that emails are trying to be sent but are being blocked by Virgin Media. The error message refers to the "Hourly rate limit being exceeded" See below:

Hi Zach
i have just been notified by groups.io that I am also having a problem of messages to my NTLworld email address bouncing with message "Hourly ratelimit for your IP exceeded".
Can you help me to solve this please?
John

Hey IslayJohn,

Welcome back to the community and thanks for taking the time to post. I’m sorry to hear of the issues that you’re having with your email at the moment. I would be happy to take a further look into this for you but first I would need to confirm a few details via private message, please look out for my message and we can get started.
Kind Regards,

Today I am receiving groups.io emails ok again. I suspect that the problem happens whenever there are a large number of emails from groups.io in a short period of time?? But this problem keeps recurring. Surely it should not be happening at all. Why is it taking so long for Virgin Media to recognise there is a problem and fix it permanently?

Oh dear, I spoke too soon! Again Virgin Media is blocking emails from groups.io :

As you can see from the above error reports Virgin Media say they are blocking these groups.io emails due to the hourly rate being exceeded.

I have spent hours trying to explain this problem to Virgin Media telephone support. They just pass me from person to person but nobody understands what I am talking about. They send test emails which I receive ok so as far as they are concerned the email service is working. How do we persuade Virgin Media to fix this problem with emails from groups.io being blocked by Virgin Media?

Hi Ian,

Thank you for reaching back out, we are sorry to see this issue has started again and you have stopped receiving Emails from Groups IO, so we can try to get this resolved, please look out for the white envelope to join a private chat.

Regards

Paul.
