How long can I access email address after terminating my contract?

How can I find a way to do that Graham?  I would gladly pay to get all of my emails back, I was suddenly cut off from my emails in September. It contained years of Payslips and subscription, correspondence, bookings, court case evidence. References, warrantees,  It's unimaginable what VM have done to me.

Hi Alex, if I sign up for a VM broadband account now, can I get my emails back? I am in a similar position to Iain. Desperate for years worth of stored information.  When I first moved out of the UK I used my virgin.net address, I'm sure that I discussed with virgin at the time, that they were endeavoring to compete, worldwide with hotmail and gmail etc.  Have been a loyal virgin customer for many years. i took out a virgin mobile plan when I first moved to Australia and carried on using the virgin.net address.

Did you not start migrating all of your emails onto a new provider such as gmail etc and  transfer the historic ones to a local folder on your pc?

I still access to VM email accounts and it is now 2years since I left VM, however as I set up a gmail account and swapped everything over from my VM email addreas, it is now redundant anyway as nothing comes to the VM email account except the odd bit of spam.

Hi UNPLUGGED1 👋 thank you for getting back to us!

We cannot guarantee that you would be able to retain the email address if it is no longer active by taking out new services with us. If the email address is no longer linked to an active services account it becomes 'orphaned' and can be deleted at any time.

Usually It should be the case that your email address is closed 90 days after the services are disconnected. You can read more about this here 👉 How to manage my email account | Virgin Media Help . As you mention being locked out of the account since September, it has been over 90 days already which does reduce the likelihood of recovery being possible even further. We no longer offer the ability to create new mail alias'es for customers, but if the address is still open we can request it is transferred over to a new active account in your name. (Once this is set up, if done quickly.)

I'd like to help if possible so I am happy to help take a look for you via PM to see if the email address is still linked to an account - but please note we cannot make guarantees that this will be possible. We are also not able to take new sales orders via the community forum so you will need to get in touch with us to place an order via the website or by phone on 📞0800 183 1234.

You can find the PM in the top right corner of the page in your Inbox. 📩 We can then return to this public thread with another update when possible. Thank you for your patience in the meantime!

Wishing you all the best. 🌞
