Exporting email to another address

Hi, moving house next month and unfortunately Virginmedia isn't available on the island , so I need to export my mail before my account is closed down. Have tried moving it to Gmail, but my username and password aren;t recognised - it's an ntlworld address , and a secondary account, not sure if that;s the issue but would really apprecaite any help / advice on this

@energise If you haven't already done so you will need to generate an app password to use with Gmail.

VM have recently changed the log in requirements for accessing VM Mail via third party apps.
Email client access now requires an app specific password which can be generated in the MyVM > Account Settings > Account details > Mailbox App password management

If you're on a portable device with a smaller screen, click on the icon in the top right-hand corner and select "messages" from the additional menu options.

tried that, asked me to change my email address to sign in , have done that, and still can't export to gmail  😞

Having changed the log in username did you then go on to generate the app password and enter that in the Gmail account credentials as your password?

I did, thanks,  appears to be an issue with virginmedia email , as unable to sign in to either my main or secondary accounts - keep getting showIdentifierInputLink in the email address window ,  email or password error messages, or the sign in button showing html !
