Hi, I have an ntlworld account and noticed a week or two ago that the content of my emails won't load quickly. I receive new emails in my inbox but I cannot see the content until it loads minutes later, which is very frustrating. This happens across two different Android devices so not a device issue. Is it a current known problem? Using the same email app on both devices I can see my Gmail message content instantly so definitely an issue with virgin media email system.

I don't know which email app you are using but I use both the K9 and Gmail email apps on my android phone. Both of them pick up my virginmedia.com, ntlworld.com and gmail.com email accounts along with emails to my private domain address.
I have not noticed any delay with either of them downloading the email content for the VM accounts but, to be fair, the Gmail app does seem to pick up newly arrived emails for all my email accounts a bit quicker than the K9 app.
I have just done a quick online search and I saw a number of reports of the Outlook android app being slow to download emails. If you are using the Outlook android app you could try down loading a different email app and see if that makes a difference.

Hi, I'm using the default Samsung Android email app in both cases. Was working fine but recently on both devices simultaneously the content of emails was very slow to load. I assumed this was an issue with virgin media email as both devices are affected? If no one else is affected then perhaps an update to the app has caused it. I'm going to check on my windows PC too but I think that was slow to load email content also the other day using Outlook.

I have never used the standard Samsung android email app so I cannot comment on that.
On my laptop I use Mozilla Thunderbird and the forum notification of your forum response came up and was available straight away - albeit the email was sent to the spam folder as has been the case with all forum notifications for quite a while now.☹️
The way the POP3 or IMAP settings work in email apps means that the only delay that is down to VM is the time taken to authenticate your username/password credentials with the VM email server. Once that authentication is complete and VM have made the contents of your email account available to the app then, I would say, that any delays in downloading and displaying the email and it's contents are primarily down to the email app and your mobile network.
Certainly it;s worth trying another email app, They each have their own good and not so good features.

Interesting, the email content loads fine when using the mobile network (Wi-Fi turned off) but takes forever over my home Wi-Fi (Virgin Media). My windows PC loads all email info fine, which is connected to the virgin media hub via ethernet cable. Could there be some form of security setting or issue with devices over the Wi-Fi that would cause content to be slow in loading?

Sorry but I cannot think of any security reasons why the VM email content would be slower to load over your VM wifi.
There are different levels of security applied when accessing VM emails on a mobile data network as opposed to your own VM network. However, as far as VM email is concerned when you are accessing email over your VM home network the security is the same whether you are connected via an ethernet cable or via your wifi.
If VM emails load ok when connected via ethernet but are slow when connected via wifi that sounds more like an issue with your VM wifi setup rather than an email issue.
What about accessing websites, does it take longer to access them when connected via wifi? If so, I am not an expert on diagnosing and solving wifi issues but you may get more help by posting on the Networking and Wifi section of the forum https://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Networking-and-WiFi/bd-p/Wireless

Thanks, websites load fine. I'm going to restart the router tomorrow to see if that helps. If not I'll follow you're suggestion above. Thanks for all your help!

FYI @coenoby it looks like the wifi router reset this morning has sorted the issue out. Email content loads fine on both Android devices. I can't be 100% sure the reset is the fix but it was a problem yesterday and now fine after the VM hub4 was reset. I think I read somewhere that it's good practise to reset the VM hub occasionally?

Several emails later I'm now sure the Hub4 reset did the trick. I now find that any issues I have with TV360 boxes, Wi-Fi and Broadband the first option is to reset the Hub4. Just didn't occur to me it may be responsible for this issue as my Son has had no problems with his android device on the same Wi-Fi network.
