Email Account Cancellation

Can someone please help? I am utterly distraught after receiving an email saying that my virgin email account is being closed in a few days. This account has been used for many, many years and I don'...

    Sorry but why on earth shd we have to do all this? The problem is VM have decided it's acceptable to suddenly prevent access to our accounts by changing the email address required without any warning or permission. When I did change it to a gmail address, it led me to an account with only my name on it, with no bills or history and I believe this is why you sent me an email saying I was no longer receiving VM services. You have done some very odd things lately with no warning.

The specific details seem to keep evolving as time goes on so you need to engage directly with a member of the VM forum team to find out what your options are.

Have you had a private PM with anyone of the VM forum team on here to find out what your options are and how/if you want to proceed?

    @smf4122 seems to be repeatedly confusing two different and quite separate issues. 

    1. The need for a non VM email address as a login/contact address for a VM broadband account.

    2. The closing down of VM email addresses that are not attached to a current VM broadband account.

    Both issues have been fully explained, but it doesn't seem to have sunk in.

    ModTeam Can I suggest someone deals with the fact that we have multiple posters posting the same thing in multiple threads.  It's not helping anyone at all.

    To everyone who is affected.  Please make a single thread for yourself so that community members and staff can try and help you all more effectively.

    I have spent an hour on the phone with someone the other day and she told me she had associated the virgin.net address with the correct account (which it always has been associated with) and I would not then have that email removed. Guess what, I get another email yesterday saying 15 days your email account will be removed bc you no longer receive VM services! I also had a supervisor call me back and assure me I will be able to continue to use virgin and ntl email addresses just not on the VM website. He was adamant they had told us this was going to happen but I have not received any email that tells us that. Only this to one email address saying I’m no longer a VM customer tho I am…

    I am not confusing two problems at all and I’m sorry but neither has been fully explained. The fact that I have received another email stating my email account will be deleted when I was assured two days ago it would not suggests that I am not the one who’s confused.

    smf4122 I believe this reply from ravenstar68 was possibly intended for you, rather than Needhelp2024. It explains in full detail why your .net mailbox is at risk

    Follow the advice of jpeg1 above and log into 'My Virgin Media' for the broadband service at your home and you should see which mailboxes are currently associated with the VM broadband service at your home.

    The only VM staff who are likely to properly understand/explain your options to you are the VM forum team but, you have multi-posted so many times in so many different topics, I can't see if you have had the offer of a private message as yet from a VM forum team member.

    Ravenstar68 I've just joined the forum, how do I ensure I post in the thread about how to migrate virgin.net to gmail as I've spent literally the past 5 days since I found out trying to do it & get help from virgin & it isnt working and I potentially loose everything tomorrow .....so grateful if you could point me in the right direction

    I'm in same boat only cut off day is potentially tomorrow & they keep saying speak to Talk Talk cos they hold my emails...but they dont and they're harder to get through to than virgin customer help...really am at my wits end
