TV Services Flex vs 18 month contract

I am just looking at the pricing of various VM packages.

Am I missing something or is the rolling monthly flexible service hardly any more expensive per month?

For example if I select the Mega Volt Bundle 18 month contract it is £84.99 per month.

If I just select gigabit broadband, then add the flex Tv service, and add Sky Sports, Cinema and entertainment, it's £90.92 per month, but I can remove options at the end of each month?

If that's the case, it seems a better option to just go with the flex service so that I can remove certain options at some times of year.

  • Forgot VM. In your first post you said you have a FTTP choice. I assume that includes Openreach. Go for Openreach. It's better. There is no need to ask tens more questions why. It just is. Then just use streaming apps on your TV.

A general piece of VM advice (if you do ever get set up with VM) would be that trying to make changes to a VM service/account in the middle of a minimum term is usually not a good idea.

It frequently leads to a lot of VM 'confusion' which is invariably to the detriment of the customer.

I though I had read on other threads that if you are on the "flex" option you can add and remove packages online without having to call in?

I've added and removed channels via the Stream box whilst on the Flex package, and it has worked well.

Anything involving either changes via the website or customer services is to put it mildly a disaster in my experience, doing it via the box works as it should, including discounts and contract lengths not affected.

For me, services added via the box are added in a matter of a couple of minutes. Services removed are subject to a month's notice, but that also happens as promised.

Not just Flex, but Virgin Media services are billed in advance, so if one adds, say, Sky Sports, the next bill will be for the forthcoming month plus the length it was subscribed to in the previous month, so the first bill after adding a service will be higher but that makes sense.
