Hub 5 in modem mode and Eero

Hi I have a Hub 5 and a virginmedia streaming box which is in a bedroom while using a Sky streamer in the living room. I would like to use an Eero 6 pro router with the Hub 5 in modem mode, I understand the Sky stream box will work with any broadband but will the virginmedia streambox work without a direct connection to the Hub 5 as I recall that in the past the stream box needs to identity that it's connected to virginmedia broadband

Any comments if this is achievable and how to setup if possible

Thanks

In router mode you get a WAN IP which shows the identity that it's connected to virgin media the ports on the hub mean nothing to the streaming box unless VM force you to use 192.168.0.x/24 which would be stupid in modem mode what every WAN IP VM gives to your router it will still show the identity that it's connected to virgin media unless VM really go stupid and make that not possible but unlikely.

So in short it will or should work in either mode one reason it might not if VM are not deliberately stopping you is that the WAN IP you get is new and VM have not fully set it up to there servers which can happen in router mode too in which case you just change the WAN MAC and try another IP.

also from what I know  you need the streaming box to use VM DNS

An Ethernet cable from Eero is best but WiFi might also work well.
