Dark screen

Comparing stream with an aerial then stream box picture is very dark compared to freeview 

does anyone know why

    Are you comparing exactly the same channels - e.g. BBC One on Stream with BBC One HD, usually on channel 101 on Freeview [rather than the SD version usually on 1]? A number of channels are HD by default on Virgin Media but either not HD on Freeview, or HD is not the default on Freeview.

    Secondly, can you check that the settings for your TV are exactly the same watching both, e.g. picture mode, etc.
