Huge lag spike and constant disconnects from every game I play on PC with ethernet connection / 1GB Fibre

As title says, ever since moving to Virgin 1GB Broadband I've had constant disconnects from 'every' game I play.

I have a high end PC that uses a ethernet cable connect right next to the Virgin router.

I had zero problems over 15 years with much slower connection with BT.

Any solution here as its driving mad?

Post the power levels, Pre and PostRS errors and network log from the Hub. Also setup a BQM to monitor your circuit www.thinkbroadband.com/ping Once done we can comment.

Gaming on BT will always be slighter better, just due to the inherent nature of the DOCIS cable network.

  • Welcome to Virgin Media. You may as well get used to this as VM will do heehaw when we complain about this.

I'm considering switching to BT for a more reliable connection, even though its slower.
