High Latency Spikes, Packet Loss and Disconnects

Hi,

Virgin Media Hub 4
Wired PC connection

For the past few months I've been having High Latency Spikes, Packet Loss and Disconnects, at various times throughout the day.
This is especially frustrating during the evening when I attempt to participate in online gaming.
I've tried multiple things, router resets, removing all devices, different cables etc to no avail.

This week I have even upgraded to 1gig connection hoping that would resolve, sadly it has not.

I ran a thinkbroadband monitor over the past 20hrs or so:

Any ideas on how to get this resolved?

Regards,

Al

were the red drops caused by you doing a hub reboot?

try to keep the hub online without a reboot if you get disconnected the hub should reconnect

        Hello al_the_boss

Sorry to hear of the connection issues experienced and the inconvenience caused, we appreciate you raising this here and providing the additional information via BQM.

We've checked the connection and it is currently showing and average download of 1108Mbps and upload speed of 104Mbps, over the last seven days there have been 3 recorded disconnections from the network, two on Wednesday 27th August and one Friday 29th August with none since.

The levels and spec's appear to be within the ranges and specs we'd expect to see. Has the service improved since your last post? Let us know if you need further support with this.

upgrading your speed was not the way forward as it can't fix problem when on slower speed with problem.
