VM are closing my emails

Despite the email received saying 'I don't have a active VM account', I do, for over 30 years, according to Customer Services VM are still going to shut down emails. I get part of the argument, but 30 days isn't really long enough to change the email addresses on all my bank, interests and all the other websites I have subscribed to over the years.

The email didn't give any ideas or instructions on how to resolve this, which is poor service.

In a phone call to Customer Service it was confirmedVM would be shuttingthe servicedespite my ongoing VM Account. They told me to use a third party email address for all my current VM addresses and that would give me access to the emails as a 'legacy'.

Is it correct that my VM emails will be closed even as a current customer?

Could VM extend the tight 30 day deadline to 90 days instead?

Could VM make an official statement about this and post a set of instructions - in layman's terms - of how, to attach a third party email address and migrate the VM emails, to the new provider?

The 30 day notice letter is a small 'improvement' on VM's previous approach which was just to delete the mailbox without warning.

If you are not a VM broadband customer VM will close down the email address. If you are currently a VM broadband customer you may have an option to save the email address.

You cannot associate the mailbox with your VM broadband account yourself, VM has to do that for you.

A VM person should reply to your topic, usually within a few days.

      Hello Penfolder,

Welcome to the community and thanks for taking the time to post here on the forums. We're sorry for any issues that the email may have caused. As advised, if you are a current and active Virgin Media broadband customer, you will be able to keep your email address but you would need to change your login to a third party email address. If you could try to login to My Virgin Media using your email address and password, once you attempt to login, you should be prompted with the option to change your login email address. If you could try that and let us know how it goes? Once that has been completed, we will be able to help further from here.

      Kind Regards,

      Steven_L
