virgin.net email account deleted without notice

So my husband had a residential account with Virgin Media, n=but changed to business 4 years ago, but held on to his virgin.net email address. Yesterday his virgin.net email was deleted with no notice last night.

He  is in the middle of searching for a new job so it is imperative he has email.

Virgin business who we have an account with wont fix it as the email address he has is a very very old virgin.net residential email. Residential wont fix it as he has a business account not a residential account.

Currently I have emailed the CEO @Lutz Schueler, but have not yet had a reply.

I have taken over conversations with virgin as Toby has already spent 5 hours on the phone and been hung up on as many times. He has lost his sense of calm.

Suggestions on where to go to fix it....

It seems VM are on a mission to purge all the mailboxes that are not linked to an active residential account.  It is in the T&C's users who leave have their mailboxes deleted.  However it seems this was not the case and it's left some mailboxes being provided for "free", and these are now being deleted.

The facts are that Virgin Media stopped issuing email accounts to their Business customers  several years ago and they stopped issuing new VM email accounts to residential customers  2 1/2 years ago.

The fact that VM no longer issue new email accounts and are now actively deleting email accounts that are not linked to a live V,M broadband account shows that they do not see their email service as part of their package going forward.

So the future of the VM email service as a whole is unclear.

I can totally understand that but honestly he needs to set up a new email account with one of the many excellent free email services listed here https://www.lifewire.com/best-free-email-accounts   Not only is that his best option going forward I think its his only option.

Sorry to seem negative but that's the reality.
