Use blueyonder or 3rd party email for VMO2 ID ?

My main email address is a blueyonder.co.uk one. When setting up my new VMO2 ID should I use this blueyonder email as my VMO2 login or am I better using a 3rd party email for this ?

Help please.

    You will need to use whatever username email you were using for the My Virgin Media account prior to the latest change. 

    You can choose any non VM email address that you have access to as the backup email address.

      And is there any means of changing this Username email address on here if the domain of it, is defunct i.e. your unable to retrieve the verification email sent to it!
