I'm trying to resurrect an old NTL world account but not having any success. I've spoken to your tech support and they said they'd send a letter to confirm the account details and the account holder but haven't had anything and its been over a week.

Is this mailbox attached to your current account, or is it an old orphaned mailbox from when you left sometime ago? If the latter, mailboxes are purged, or supposed to be, after 90 days. AFAIK VM don't keep backups of old mailboxes.
It's for a friend and as far as I am aware it was still being regularly used until recently. I'll double check it was accessed in the last 90 days.
I think it's unlikely he's a current Virgin Media customer as tech support didn't have a live account number.
