Request for Temporary Access to Disconnected Ntlworld Mailbox

Hi Team,

I am a current Virgin Media customer and I am trying to regain access to my orphaned ntlworld.com email address after I changed the main email on my account from ntlworld to gmail.

Could a member of the Forum Team please help me by granting access to the ntlworld mailbox so I can access my emails by providing an app password.

I am happy to provide my old account details or verify my identity via Private Message. Thank you.

Providing a third party email address to VM should not have resulted in your ntlworld mailbox being orphaned.

Was the ntlworld mailbox working correctly before you provided the Gmail address?

By what means are you trying to access the ntlworld mailbox now?

  • Hi Alessandro,

Thank you. I am helping Geri. Yes, it was working before the change.

I am trying to access it as an IMAP mailbox via the Outlook app which tells me I need an app password.

I would prefer to access it via webmail. Is there a way to access it directly in a browser?

This url does not work - https://mail.virginmedia.com/

    Thanks

Yes, you need to login to “My VM” using the VMO2ID user.   Once in go to Webmail to access the mailbox.  NOTE - the webmail password and the email client passwords are not the same.

  • This mail.virginmedia.com page can’t be found

No web page was found for the web address: https://mail.virginmedia.com/appsuite/api/oidc/Invalid%20credentials.

      so the link is ok.

When logging into the VM webmail page to access the Ntlworld email account you need to use the Gmail address as the login address as well as the MyVM account password.

  • Thanks for your help so far but we cannot login to VM email page as it wants a VMO2 password and we have not successfully linked the old VM account to the new VMO2 account.
To complete the link it says we need access to the old ntlworld mailbox to authorise it, which we do not have.
So it seems we are in a loop of not being able to link the old/new accounts.
We need access to the old mailbox somehow. If not webmail then via a mail client using an app password which is where we started.
Is this something the forum can help with?

    TIA
