Putting a Blueyonder address on Outlook

I got switched onto Outlook from the Mail app on Windows

I have been able to put my Gmail addresses on to Outlook but I am struggling with the Blueyonder one.

It wont accept the password on Outlook but It has been working fine on the Mail app.

As I was not 100% sure I was using the right password I reset it BIG MISTAKE  !!!

It now wont work on either the App or Outlook but I know the password is right as It works on Webmail

Help

  • edam VM now require a different app specific password to use with email clients such as Outlook.  This is different to the password you use for webmail.

VM have recently changed the log in requirements for accessing VM Mail via third party apps.

If you change the password for the account in My Virgin Media > Account settings > Account details you will not be able to use the new password to access the account via an email client. Email client access now requires an app specific password which can be generated in the MyVM > Account Settings > Account details > Mailbox App password management

HI edam thanks for getting back to us.

Sorry to hear you've been having issues with your blueyonder email address and outlook.  Has the advice offered by your fantastic fellow community members helped?  Or do you still require assistance?

        Regards

I feel your pain.  Struggling with the same issue myself with 4 blueyonder addresses and also a  virginmedia one.  A nice lady on here called Molly is assisting but I don't want to change the app password for fear of stopping mail coming through altogether as at the moment its fine on the android mail.  Hope you sort yours out.
