I have anew laptop. I am trying to add my NTL email. The IMAP password which you set up for me 3 years ago won't work. I have set up my VirginO2 ID. I cannot generate a password which will work for my main NTL address.
I think this is because my 20 year old VM login is another NTL world email which has never been used ,it is trying to issue a password for this .

catlover From what you describe you are signing into the wrong VMO2ID account. You need to use the one for the ntlworld email address that you are generating the app password for. If you haven't already gone through the process to convert the MY VM login for the ntlworld email address to a VMO2ID you will be taken through the process when you first try to sign in with it. However, if you have forgotten the account password (not the IMAP password) then you will need to call in for support as there is no longer a 'forgotten password' option available online.

If you have setup your VMO2ID, can you logon to "My VM" and access your mailbox via Webmail?
Can you use the "Forgot password" route once logged on?

I can log in to VM and access one e mail address. There is no sign of my main email address. The community have email to suggest I need to set up a 2nd VM02ID.
I have no clue how to do this .I have not forgotten the password. It doesn't work.

catlover Go to mail.virginmedia.com and enter the ntlword.com email address concerned. You should then be taken through the process to set up the VMO2ID for the account.
