Old blueyonder email retrieval?

I had a blueyonder email address some years ago that seemed to have been discontinued. It is the email I set up my Microsoft account with and when sending codes for security reasons I cannot receive these as the email account seems to have been discontinued. I know it’s a long shot, but is there anyway to retrieve the email and password. If sending an email to it it doesn’t bounce back so it must still exist somewhere?
thank you

  • Hi Jean,

Welcome to our forums, and thank you for your first post. Thank you for your query. We want to do our best to look into this for you. Can you let us know if you are a current account holder? Also, when last were you able to access the mail box? Please get back to us when you can, and we will do our best to assist from here 😊

      Hi,

thank you for replying. My husband is the account holder, but we both had/have? blueyonder email addtesses through VM.
I think the last time I used it was about 4 years ago. VM had said they were going to stop supporting blueyonder accounts and so I started changing over to Gmail.
I am aware it is a long shot. So thank you for any help/suggestions.

Hi JeanS1 thanks for your reply here.

So firstly, if your husband is the account holder, we'd need to ask him to contact us please as even if it's your email address, we need to engage with the customer who is the registered Virgin Media account holder.

Can you confirm firstly if you are still a Virgin Media customer, or are you a former customer?

The message above from Akua_A is somewhat vague, what is important is this, ‘are you a current VM broadband customer, paying for a service, and if so, is the email address in question properly attached to this broadband account?’

Because if the answer to either is ‘no’, then I’m very sorry but the account to access this email address has almost certainly been deleted. In which case, again I’m sorry it is gone and there is nil way that VM can ‘resurrect’ it.

The fact that you don’t get a bounce-back message doesn’t really mean anything, it is likely that VM’s systems still accept email to your address, but either there is no mailbox for it so it is simply dumped, or there is a mailbox but the account to access it has been deleted so it is, basically, cut off.

If emails to that email are not yet bouncing back, there will still be some remaining vestige of the address. But it will be down to VM whether they feel able to help.
