NTLWorld

Years ago I had an ntlworld email address. I was told it would be closed so I set up a new account elsewhere and popped an autoforward on to catch any last few mails before the 6 month close date.

I thought all ok then suddenly I have an email come through saying thank you for signing up to a website using that old ntlworld address. Clearly not shut down.

How do I get this shutdown? I was on the phone for ages this morning but Virgin couldn't help because I wasn't the Virgin Media account holder all those years ago at an address I haven't lived at for 7 years.
