ntlworld email

I used to use an NTLWorld email address, which I no longer use. I forwarded any emails that may still come to that address to my Gmail account. I use an iPad for normal emails, and recently I am being asked for the password for IMAP ntlworld, which I can't find. How do I stop it? How do I delete my ntlworld account (if not already deleted)

If that IMAP error message is coming up in the Mail app that you use to mange your emails on your iPad then you have 2 options:

    1. Delete the Ntlworld email account from the app. That means it will no  longer keep checking the VM server and coming back with that password error. However, it does mean that you will no longer be able to use the app to view any old emails for that Ntlworld account.
    2. Or, if you don't want to delete the account from the app, you can change the settings in the app to simply temporarily stop the app from checking the VM server for new emails. Again, that will stop the app reporting that error.

If you are using the standard Apple Mail app to manage your emails then here is the link to the instructions from the Apple User Guide on how to do that:

    https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/ipad/ipadb37c902e/26/ipados/26

Go onto that link and :

    • scroll down to the section headed "Temporarily stop using an email account" which explains how to achieve option 2.
    • scroll down to  "Delete an email account" which explains all about option 1.
