NTLworld.com email address

Could someone please help, I'm at my wits end.......

I have an old NTLworld.com email address which I still use. I have been having a few issues around it on my iPhone 16pro and decided to remove the email address and then reinstall it.

I know the email address and the main password, but when trying to get the email address added to my phone, it keeps saying "Wrong username and/or password provided for "Ntlworld".

I'm using the original email address and password I set up many years ago now with no issues, I just cannot seem to get this to reinstall on my iPhone, I'm pretty savvy with computers etc, but I'm getting or reading totally different stories on how to go about this. Could a member help out ?.

    Installing on a new machine will probably trigger the need to create an app password for the email account.

    To create an email app password or update an existing one you need to follow these steps:

    Sign into the My Virgin media account https://www.virginmedia.com/for the email concerned with your VMO2ID

    Select Account Settings

    Select Identity & Security Settings

    Select Manage your products

    Select Manage email app password

    Click on the blue button 'Get New Password'

    Make a note of the generated password. This is what you use in the mail apps along with the vm email address as the username.

    Are you currently a VM broadband customer (your last topic mentions a pending contract end last September)?

  • Looks as though I've been assigned or have an email address (assuming it's a NTL world address) I don't know about, so can't link my Virgin Media account to the O2 account to get in.

    Why do they make things so complicated now....

    I will have to ring them on Monday
