Ntlworld account - cannot access

I have had my ntlworld account for 20 odd years. With no warning it has been deleted. I need to gain access, online chat does not help. It is not my primary email address so I don’t need to keep it forever, however I would like the opportunity to forward my emails to another email address and the warning to change places where I use it. I have ordered items prior to Christmas and need access to my emails to get an order number in order to return items. Please can someone help me gain access? I do not have a virgin media account other than this one I’ve just created for posting!

Virginmedia have been busy closing email addresses that are not linked to current VM broadband accounts.  Apparently they sent warning messages to such email users.

Thank you for your reply. I did not see any type of message. Are there any admin who can help reactivate my account please? I’m happy to transfer everything so it can then be deleted if it has to be!

        Hi Lbe,

Thanks for taking the time to contact us via the Community. It's lovely having you on board with us in the Forums.

We're sorry to hear you've lost access to your Virgin Media email address. We're only able to restore access if you have an active Virgin Media broadband account. As you've mentioned in your post that you are not a Virgin Media account holder, there wouldn't be a way for us to restore access I'm afraid.

The only thing we would be able to do is raise this with IT to completely delete the address so if anyone tried sending you an email via that address, the email will bounce back with an 'undelivered' message. If you'd like us to arrange this, pop back and let us know.

        Apologies for the inconvenience.

        Thanks,

Many others have asked the same question. The answer is always the Virginmedia will not help if you are not paying them for broadband.

Unfortunately there is no one to complain to because Virginmedia are legally correct, as you will see if you read the agreement you signed up to when you started that email address.

As others have found it's a hard lesson. But when you move to a new email address, please keep offline copies of your important emails and contacts. A free email account is meant for exchanging messages. It is not intended as a safe filing system.

  • Hi, I have VM tv package.

I have my NTLworld email as the primary address - that works fine.

My wife has a NTLworld address which we can't access. Its down as a secondary email address.

I have just spoken to VM helpline and been informed that a VM account can only have 1 email address.
If I want to access the secondary account, I will have to make it the primary email, but then of course I can't access my email.

    Is this correct?

    Thanks
    Graham

I think your problem is different to the OP's problem you might have been better starting a new thread, (don't do another one a VIP or mod might split this off).

Your OH should still be able to access her email account if it's an ntl.world.com account I have 3 accounts still active, 1 is the the OH and 2 are mine 1 rarely used.

If you require access to your Virgin Media account then that can only have one address for making changes.

        Thanks Roy.

How do you access the 2 secondary accounts?
I log into VM ok, but then can't find anywhere to actually log into the secondary ones.
It automatically takes me to my email page. If I log out of there, it logs me out of the whole VM account
