New Virgin Email system is an abomination

I've been with "ntlworld" for 25 years. And I have to say ntl/virgin have the most horrid email implementation of any ISP in UK's history. I have been with AOL,ntl/virgin, BT. 

I created an email app password so please don't suggest i go through that stupid process again.

For the last few days I've all of a sudden been asked by the new outlook 365 program in windows to enter my password, which I did many times, even after generating a new one, and i can no longer log into my email.

I completely removed the account and tried to add it again - but no.

I can add it in outlook classic, only.

Virgin. sort your email out.

  • VM has no interest in doing so and is instead actively winding down its email service. You need to break the habit of sticking with ISP email provision and begin the laborious but important migration to portable providers like Gmail or Proton.

      That may or may not be true but it’s not going to fix the immediate issue of being unable to access messages is it? If they were going to scrap email the least they could do is provide notice, a standard approach of any organisation for any service coming to the end of its life.

        If you have evidence that VM is in fact strengthening and expanding its email provision do please share it with the forum.

    Are you getting any specific error when you try to log in?

    Every day, I have to reenter my password generated by virgins crappy 2fa to access my btl email. And most of the time it says unable to log in

    Are virgin aware of this issue? This used to be a competent isp. Now they can't even operate a basic email service. And I mean basic because it's 3rd world.
