New email required to sign in

Got an email "

"

Hello,

We’re making changes to the way you sign in online to My Virgin Media, as part of our commitment to keep our online spaces safe and secure.

Instead of using your current email address to sign in to your account, you’ll need use your Virgin Media Mail email address.

This will take effect automatically from 30/06/2025. You’ll still use your current password.

Kind regards,

The Virgin Media team

How can I pick a new virgin mail to log in with?  Sounds like I will be locked out come this date.  I've already lost my secondary email being unable to reset the password.

sgtsixpack  You don't need to pick a new virgin mail to log in with.  The message means that from the date stated you will revert to signing into the My Virgin Media/webmail account with the original email address rather than the third party one you currently use.  The original email address is the one that the third party username currently gives you access to.  It could be a blueyonder, virgin.net, ntlworld.com or virginmedia address but you should be able to see that email account.

sgtsixpack "I'm signed into google chrome,.............login it goes no further in firefox - just leads to an empty page:"

I'm assuming you mean you can sign into the account via Chrome but not when you use Firefox.

The link you posted is the address of the page asking you to enter your VM password. So Firefox is taking you to the right page but it could be that there is a corrupt cookie in your installation of Firefox that is stopping the page from displaying correctly.

Try signing into VM Firefox using a "Private window" - that will download fresh copies of any cookies that are needed. To do that click on the 3 horizontal bars in the top right hand corner of the Firefox screen and click on "New private window" in the drop down menu.

If you can access the account in a Firefox private window the long term solution is to delete the VM cookies from Firefox.  That will allow you to access your VM account in Firefox without having to use a private window,

Try that and see how it goes.

This works in a private window but when I delete cookies in firefox and use a normal window it does the same.

If it works in a Private window then that's a clear indication the issue when using a  normal window is cookie related.

If it was happening to me I would try deleting all cookies from Firefox  again.

It was noscript.  A url needed was being blocked by this was transparent to me.  I've allowed the url and unpaused noscript on the site.  Thanks for the help.
