iPhone email stopped working

Hi, ntlworld.com email address stopped working on iPhone, despite several loops around username and password errors I still can’t resolve. I’ve tried the reset password with no luck (it works on webmail!) I’m now trying the 3rd party email address verification but can’t get past screens saying ‘oops something wrong on our side’ !!. Been going on for months, is it linked to some MFA change ? Given up on the phone as language barriers and general poor service levels have resulted in no solutions.

    Is your NTL mailbox linked to a current paying VM account?   If so, can you access it via MVM and Webmail? If that works you may need to generate a new four word app password?

    Hi, thanks for the reply, yes still active VM account and can access via webmail (not sure what MVM is). I’ve tried the password reset instructions but not getting very far, have you got a guide or link to the process i need to follow ? Cheers

      ms16097  There is currently a fault which is preventing account updates via My Virgin Media.  This is likely to be the reason why you cannot generate an app password.

        Thanks for the reply, any idea why i have to reset password? My email on iPhone works fine but for some reason my wife’s stopped working, have VM made some changes ? I had a very garbled conversation with Tech support where she seemed to be saying they’ve introduced MFA and I’ll need a 3rd party email to get it working again (even though webmail is fine 🤦‍♂️) cheers

      Sorry, MVM = My Virgin Media.  Don’t you just hate acronyms !
