Intermittent log in fail with my NTLworld/Virgin email

Hi

Yesterday my wife who has an @virgin.co.uk account reported she was getting a login fail with her account. Today I've been having the same issue with my @ntlworld.com account, though I have managed to successfully test send and receive from a different non-Virgin account and also from the Virgin email webmail portal - though he webmail if also showing emails received since late morning that are not downloading into my email client. Seems a bit random though currently I get the "Login to server imap.virginmedia.com failed" repeatedly .We are current Virgin customers with our TV and phone service currently working OK.

Normally when I get the incorrect password message it indicates a temporary issue with the provider email/password server but I can see no reports of problems when I do a service status check.

Anyone any info on this?

  • Hi postmodboy,

Thank you for your post. We're very sorry to hear about your email addresses having issues.

To confirm, are these emails attached to an active Virgin Media broadband account?

  • Sorry I missed this message. Email back working not. I suspect there was a temporary issue with the mail server and our router IP address as I started getting messages about a temporary blacklisting though I'm pretty confident we don't have any trojans or malware lurking on our devices and we certainly don't spam anyone! If it had been our IP address then I would have thought we'd have the same problem with my work email server that delivers and sends vis the same router. After about 3 or 4 days of issues both I and my wife have been getting mail as usual but thanks for replying
