Email problems on different laptops

This system is in disarray.  I have three Windows Laptops, all on Outlook, all with my Virginmedia account set as a default, no customisation, should all be identical.

One is working.

Two is working to send mail, but will only display mails from three or more years ago.

Three is a new computer to replace One as its near time expired in gaming/simulation capability.  This one gives the password can't be verified message, so no access.  Exhausted every way round this I can think of!

  • Hi BadRaven,

Thanks for your post and welcome to our community.

We're sorry to hear you're having some issues accessing your email account via outlook.

You'll need to set an app password please.

At the moment, we're aware of an issue with our My Virgin Media site.

Our teams are working to fix this as a priority.

We apologise for any inconvenience that may be caused whilst we work to resolve this.

Once this is resolved however, please follow the below steps 😊

Sign in to My Virgin Media here
Go to Account settings, then Account details
Tap Manage next to Manage your Virgin Media Mail app password under Virgin Media Mail
Then, under Virgin Media Mail app password tap Get password
Continue the flow and a new secure password will be generated, and the mailbox unlocked
Update any third-party apps that may be use to access your Virgin Media Mail emails with this new app password.

If you have any questions, please do pop back to us and we'd be happy to help

The steps posted by Vikki_m are no longer valid.  The current process is:

To create one or update an existing email app password you need to follow these steps:

Sign into the My Virgin media account for the email concerned with your VMO2ID

      Select Account Settings

      Select Identity & Security Settings

      Select Manage your products

      Select Manage email app password

Click on the blue button 'Get New Password'

Make a note of the generated password. This is what you use in the mail apps along with the VM email address as the username.
