email no longer working

Hi, do you know why after years of using microsoft office and outlook my ntlworld email will not work?

It looks like a Microsoft update to windows 11 has stopped it is there a way to get it working again as all my mail was in folders and diary dates were on my calendar.

  • yes i get my broadband as i always have from Virgin. the issue first happened in July after a windows 11 update and i was advised i needed a new longer Password. That resolved the issue. Then a further windows 11 update has killed it again  and there appears no "solution" this time

Can you login to "My VM" with your VMO2ID user and access your mail using Webmail?

If so, you should be able to reset your email client password for Outlook.  It would also be prudent to remove your existing account from Outlook and set it up again.

To create one or update an existing one you need to follow these steps:

Sign into the My Virgin media account for the email concerned with your VMO2ID

      Select Account Settings

      Select Identity & Security Settings

      Select Manage your products

      Select Manage email app password

Click on the blue button 'Get New Password'

Make a note of the generated password. This is what you use in the mail apps along with the ntlworld email address as the username.

First question is, are you currently a VM broadband customer (because VM has been closing down mailboxes which are not linked to a current VM broadband account)?

As goslow asked, are you currently a Virgin Media broadband customer?
