Email log in

Hi my wife’s o2 phone stopped her receiving emails, it keeps denying her password that she has used for the last 20yrs. This is an @ntlworld account

on logging in to her virgin email account that also denied her log in stating wrong password ?

after changing her password on her Virgin media account she now has access to her emails through that account, although still blocked on o2 phone

she changed her password on the imap account information page on her phone to the new password generated through her virgin media account

Still says wrong password, I am the main account holder for the tv broadband etc and hers is purely an email account, mine is still working perfectly and is also an @ntlworld account

any help would be greatly appreciated 🙏

It gods that she has access via Webmail.  However that password is not valid for an email client. She needs to get an “app” password generated.  This is in the form word-word-word-word

Sign into the My Virgin media account for the email concerned with your VMO2ID

    Select Account Settings

    Select Identity & Security Settings

    Select Manage your products

    Select Manage email app password

Click on the blue button 'Get New Password‘

Thank got for the post Adduxi.

Sorry forgive my ignorance but I do not understand the step "Sign into the My Virgin media account for the email concerned with your VMO2ID"  I hope I'm missing something as when I tried to do that it wants me to link VirginMedia account, and that makes it the primary account.

The system does not seem to handle multiple emails addresses anymore, which may be the reason virginmedia no longer allows you to manage/create/delete other email accounts.  Really not good as it leaves me with an issue as I have a few secondary emails, luckily one one at the moment is not working.

TL201 Each separate email address has a unique VMO2ID.  Try signing in with the actual secondary email address and, provided the system recognises it as a valid Virgin Media Mail account, it should take you through the VMO2ID process without needing to link it to a Virgin Media broadband account.
